It’s a traditional brew that’s been served in Kashmir for centuries — in homes, on houseboats, at weddings, and during the long Himalayan winters. Made with Kashmiri green tea leaves, real saffron strands, almonds, dried rose petals, and whole spices, it’s warm, aromatic, mildly spicy, and golden in colour. Ours is sourced from a supplier in Kashmir and comes unsweetened — add honey or mishri if you like, or drink it pure the way Kashmiris do.

What’s Inside

Kashmiri Green Tea Leaves — The base. Lighter than black tea, subtle and clean.
Saffron (Kesar) — Real saffron strands. Gives the golden colour and distinctive aroma that defines Kahwa.
Almonds — Crushed. Adds body and nuttiness to the brew.
Dried Rose Petals — Floral, fragrant, visually beautiful in the cup.
Cardamom, Cinnamon, Cloves — The warming spice backbone of every Kahwa recipe.
No sugar — Completely unsweetened. Add honey or mishri to taste, or drink it as-is.

Kahwa ≠ Chai

Kahwa is not chai. It’s never made with milk. It’s never made with CTC tea. It’s a green-tea-based spiced infusion meant to be drunk clear, like a tisane. If you add milk, you’re making masala chai with saffron — which is fine, but it’s not Kahwa. Brew it the Kashmiri way at least once before you experiment.

No sugar. No artificial saffron flavour. No yellow colouring. No synthetic fragrance. Just Kashmiri green tea, real kesar, nuts, rose petals, and whole spices.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from moisture and sunlight. Saffron is light-sensitive — keep sealed for best colour and aroma.

Nutritional facts

Step 1: Boil 1 cup of water. Reduce to a simmer.
Step 2: Add 1–1.5 teaspoons of Kahwa blend. Let it steep for 3–5 minutes. Don’t rush this — the saffron needs time to release its colour and aroma.
Step 3: Strain into a cup. You’ll see the golden colour immediately.
Step 4: Optional: add a teaspoon of honey or crush a piece of mishri into the cup. Do NOT add milk. Kahwa is never made with milk.
Step 5: Garnish with a few slivered almonds and a rose petal if you want the full Kashmiri experience.
